The agency co-founders also represent Asia Pacific at the worldwide Social Media Week
Viral video ad maker Gigil’s founding partners Badong Abesamis and Herbert Hernandez have been named in Adweek’s Creative 100, the first from the Philippines to ever break into the list.
Gigil is the Filipino agency behind the viral digital campaigns of RC Cola which won the Australasian gold and silver creative awards, as well as ads for Accenture, Netflix, Mega Tuna, Orocan, Julie’s Bakeshop, and Levi’s.
Adweek’s Creative 100 named the two Filipino creators to the list of 2021’s “most fascinating and enviable creative professionals, ranging from influential icons to emerging game-changers.”
Gigil was founded only in 2017 but had already earned a distinction as the Philippines’ most effective agency in the 2020 APAC Effies, the regional show that measures the creative effectiveness of advertising ideas.
Gigil was also named by Campaign AOY not just “Philippines Independent Agency of the Year 2020,” but also “Philippines Creative Agency of the Year 2020.”
In May, GIGIL represented Asia Pacific in Adweek’s worldwide virtual event called “Social Media Week.” Global industry leaders and practitioners gathered for the four-day event to share their expertise on the biggest platform today: social media.
“Love these guys. Herbert and Badong at GIGIL are two of the most creative leaders in advertising right now,” Adweek International Editor David Griner says.
