The winner of the Miss Universe Thailand (MUT) 2022 pageant, set to represent the country in the international competition later this year, was trained by a Filipino pageant coach.
RL Lacanienta of the Philippines-based pageant training camp RL’s Angels trained Miss Universe Thailand candidate #19 Anna Sueangam-iam and again proved to the world that Pinoy trainers of beauty queens have what it takes to win crowns.
Lacanienta formally announced his collaboration with Anna’s team in Thailand on the Instagram account of RL’s Angels last June 12, the last day of application for MUT 2022.

Following Anna’s victory in the Miss Universe Thailand pageant, RL said that it had been an honor for him to follow Anna on her path to the title and gave credit for her win to the beauty queen’s hard work, passion, and dedication.
Trained by a Filipino and won. Congratulations Anna Sueangam-iam and RL Lacanienta.

RL had previously worked with Miss Thailand Paweensuda Drouin, a top 5 finisher at Miss Universe 2019, and Miss Supranational 2019 winner Anntonia Porsild, also of Thailand. Other countries have also tapped RL to train them in various national and international beauty pageants.

Lacanienta regularly trains Filipino beauty queens including titleholders Bb. Pilipinas-Intercontinental 2022 Gabrielle Basiano and Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Tourism Katrina Dimaranan. He has also coached some male candidates from different countries.
It is not unusual for Filipinos to collaborate with candidates from other nations as in the case of student Kennedy Gasper who designed Miss Universe Nigeria’s winning national costume and Cameroon’s first-ever representative to the 69th edition of the Miss Universe pageant, and designer Arwin Meriales who created Miss Singapore’s anti-Asian hate costume.
SEND CONGRATULATIONS in the comments below to Filipino pageant coach RL Lacanienta for having his trainee Anna Sueangam-iam win the Miss Universe Thailand crown!
