Digital safety tips and essentials released by Microsoft have been translated into the Filipino language to help Pinoy teachers and students stay safe on the internet.
Microsoft published the newly-translated “Digital Safety Essentials for students and teachers” website in Filipino as a resource for online safety intended for teachers in the Philippines during this time of blended or online learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
To help students and teachers in the Philippines expand their online knowledge, the site provides information aimed at the youth, as well as quizzes and activities, and downloadable notes for teachers.
The site covers various topics from cyberbullying, fake news and misinformation, to knowing the dangers of risky behavior on the internet.
Microsoft said during the launch in late September 2021 that students and teachers in the Philippines can use the new resource to help facilitate in-class conversations about the following essential digital safety topics:
- Protecting your data and identity
- Putting a stop to cyberbullying
- Wising up to risks, and
- Being a good digital citizen

Google earlier held a free webinar on Internet safety and responsible digital citizenship and invited Filipino students to a live fact-checking battle against other top students in Asia.
