Filipina teen tennis champion Alexandra “Alex” Eala surged to No. 505 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) world rankings just over a year since she turned professional.
The 16-year-old Alex Eala surged closer to the world Top 500 in the latest professional women’s tennis rankings released on August 9, 2021, a new pro-career-high since she entered the top 1000 at the start of 2021.
Alex Eala’s previous professional career-best was at No. 624, before her WTA main draw debut at Cluj-Napoca Winners Open in Romania.
The Philippines’ tennis star played and won her first professional match in March 2020 and has since been climbing the pro women’s charts.
Eala won her first professional tournament in January at Manacor in Spain where she is a scholar of the Rafa Nadal Academy.
Alex Eala also continues to play in the Junior Girls’ tournaments of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) where she is ranked the World No. 2 girls’ singles player.
