PH netizens are all eyes to our has been second gold medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Wednesday afternoon but sadly our very own Nesthy Petecio fell short to get the gold medal and settled for a silver medal at the Kokugikan arena.
Though Petecio struggled in the first round with her match to Irie, who is nine years younger. Petecio bounce back in the second round and landed some strong punches. Irie got all five judges by 10-9.
Nesthy Alcayde Petecio, born April 11, 1992, is a Filipina amateur boxer whose claim to fame was winning a gold medal at the 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships and being the first Filipino to ever win an Olympic medal in Women’s boxing.
