Filipino tennis star Alexandra “Alex” Eala has secured berths to the Girls’ Doubles finals and Singles semifinals at the Trofeo Bonfiglio in Milan, extending her winning streak to four days at the 2021 International Tenis Tennis Federation (ITF) Juniors World Tour in Italy.
The Philippines’ teen champion and No. 1 seeded player of JA Milan has been playing two matches in a day, with her fourth Singles and Doubles matches played on July 16.
The 16-year-old Eala first fended off the challenge of her Singles quarterfinals opponent Sofia Costoulas of Belgium, 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-4, sending the Filipino to the Singles Semifinals.
Alex Eala and American partner Madison Sieg then played their Doubles Semifinals match and handed down a defeat to the Russian pair of Kira Pavlova and Diana Shnaider, 6-3, 6-4, sending the Philippines-US tandem to the finals.
Eala will again be playing both semifinals and finals games on July 17.
ITF World No. 3 Alex Eala will meet Russia’s Mirra Andreeva in the Singles semifinals match.
Eala will again face Costoulas and partner Lucija Ciric Bagaric of Croatia in the battle for the JA Milan Doubles Championship title.
Alex Eala seeks to add another championship title to her credit after winning the 2021 French Open Doubles Championship and 2020 Australian Open Doubles Championship.
