Filipino-American National Basketball Association (NBA) superstar Jordan Clarkson has stepped in to restore a Filipino and Asian fusion food truck in Utah after it was spray-painted with anti-Asian and racist messages of hate.
The Utah Jazz Guard tweeted on June 10, 2021, that he is teaming up with vehicle wrap shop Identity Graphx to give the World Famous Yum Yum Food Truck a brand new look.
“It hurt me deeply to see that Salt Lake’s @yumyumasian food truck was recently vandalized – I know the pain that hateful language and racism causes,” Jordan Clarkson said.
Clarkson also shared images of what the vehicle will look like after being redesigned by Identity Graphx.
“With help from @identitygraphix we’ll be able to restore the truck and hopefully lift Ben and his family’s spirit!! #StopAsianHate.” Clarkson adds.

The food truck is being run by Ben Pierce and his 21-year old son, Brevin.
In a Facebook post, the World Famous Yum Yum Food Truck said they are overwhelmed with gratitude because of the amount of support they received from the local community and Jordan Clarkson.
“It has been an emotional few days. The love and support that we got from all of you has been deeply heartfelt. My family can’t thank you guys enough. Special thanks to Utah Jazz’s Jordan Clarkson and Dan from Identity graphics for the new look,” the Yum Yum Food Truck wrote.
In another tweet, the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year said he stands in solidarity with the Filipino community in Utah, decrying anti-Asian discrimination and hate crimes in the United States.
“I stand in solidarity with Utah’s Filipino community – love is more powerful than hate! #utahfilipino #StopAAPIHate #stopasianhate,” Clarkson wrote.
Clarkson, together with other influential Fil-Am stars, is calling for a stop to hate incidents against Asians and Asian Americans.
Jordan Clarkson earlier teamed up with NBA Philippines to bring smiles to two Pinoy frontline heroes with a special holiday treat during the Christmas episode of the Republika Huddle show.
