Three Philippine universities—University of the Philippines (UP), Tarlac State University (TSU), and Jose Maria College Foundation, Inc. (JMCFI) College of Law—have qualified for the prestigious Price Media Law Moot Court International Rounds at the University of Oxford in England. The competition is set to take place in person from April 21 to 25, 2025.
The Philippine law schools participated in the Asia-Pacific Regional Rounds of the competition about the human rights aspects of legal issues in media and information technology held in Manila for the first time, hosted by Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Manila and co-presented by Rex Education at the Sotero H. Laurel Academic Resource Center. This marks a historic moment for LPU Manila, which previously won the Asia-Pacific Regional Rounds in 2019. The competition is part of the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights under the Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford. The institute supports students pursuing careers in human rights through its “Gateways to Human Rights Research and Practice” initiative, which includes research projects, training programs, and human rights mooting opportunities.
