World Champion gymnast Carlos Yulo and Paralympics medalist Ernie Gawilan have joined the Toyota Asia Team in the race to the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, France this 2024.

Artistic gymnastics star Yulo and para swimmer Gawilan are the two Filipino champions among the 11 Asian athletes and more than 200 Global Team Toyota Athletes supported by the brand and featured in the “Start Your Impossible” global campaign to drum up excitement for the upcoming Olympic Games this July 26 to August 11 and Paralympic Games from August 30 to September 8.

The global campaign showcases the power of local communities rallying behind their athletes and emphasizes Toyota’s belief that no journey is taken alone.

Carlos Yulo is the first Filipino artistic gymnast to win a medal (FX bronze, Doha 2018) and the first to secure a world title (FX gold, Stuttgart 2019). He is competing in 6 events in Paris.

Ernie Gawilan was the first Filipino qualifier for the Tokyo Paralympics and won gold medals at the ASEAN Para Games and Asian Para Games.
