The Kagayha-an Bowlers Association’s (KBA) – Cagayan De Oro (CDO) Invitational Classic 2024 at the SM Bowling Center in SM CDO Downtown featured notable participant Zach Sales Ramin. With achievements such as a Singapore Open victory, an Asian Youth Champion title, and a PSA award, Ramin competed and championed the cause of youth development in bowling.

Ramin’s appearance in the tournament which ran from February 21 to 25, marks his first open tournament in the Philippines outside of Manila and follows a commendable 16th place finish at the Dubai Open.

During a press conference with the CDO media on February 21, Ramin shared his personal journey in bowling, emphasizing its significance beyond mere competition.

“Bowling has been more than just a sport to me; it’s been a journey of growth, learning, and connection. Starting young allowed me to appreciate not just the competitiveness but also the community that comes with it.

“Here in Cagayan de Oro, I see a potential for the sport to flourish among the youth. My aim is to show that with dedication and the right support, anyone can achieve greatness in this sport. I believe that by sharing my story, I can motivate the young bowlers here to dream big and work hard towards those dreams,” Ramin stated.

Teddy Sabuga-a, President of the Kagayha-an Bowlers Association (KBA), expressed gratitude towards Zach Ramin’s involvement in the CDO Invitational Classic. “Having Zach Sales Ramin join us is a true honor. His achievements and dedication to bowling, especially his focus on youth development, resonate deeply with our goals at KBA,” said Sabuga-a. “Zach’s participation is expected to not just enhance our event but also inspire a new wave of young bowlers in our community.” Following Ramin’s involvement in the CDO event, the organization received inquiries and signups from young bowlers.

Zach Sales Ramin’s involvement in the tournament and his advocacy for youth bowling is a testament to the positive impact sports can have on development, discipline, and community engagement. As the tournament wrapped up, Ramin’s efforts to inspire and nurture young bowling talents highlighted the potential for greatness within the sport, both in Cagayan de Oro and beyond.
