Anna Marie Parrant was born in La Union in the Philippines and migrated to New Zealand with her children after overcoming domestic abuse from her previous husband.
Parrant has taken her advocacy for women’s welfare to her work as the national director as she prepares to stage the Mrs. Universe New Zealand in October 2022.
Pinoy Tok is part of the Barangay New Zealand program which declares “Dito, sikat kayo!” as it presents Filipino-Kiwi Newsmakers, Kulay Pinoy Trivia, among other stories of good, service, and success of Filipinos.
