Yuka Saso moves up to career-high World No. 6 in golf rankings

Yuka Saso has climbed to World No. 6 in the latest Rolex women’s golf rankings, marking a new career-high for the Filipina-Japanese golf sensation.

Saso, the first Filipina winner of the United States Women’s Open Championship, moved up three spots to rank 6th in the current world rankings released on August 30, 2021.

The 20-year-old golfer now has an average of 5.64 points from 36 events played, placing behind Lydia Ko of New Zealand.

Saso was previously ranked No. 8 after finishing in the top ten of her Tokyo Summer Games debut.

Yuka Saso is part of the 19-strong Philippine national delegation to the Summer Games in Japan which tallied the best-ever medal haul of 1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze medal for the Filipino nation.

The Filipina-Japanese Olympian recently tied for 15th place and joint 39th in the Trust Women’s Scottish Open and Women’s British Open, respectively.
