National Commission on Indigenous People released a statement regarding Apo Whang-od awareness that she will teach Kalinga Art of Tattooing in Nas Academy, founded by an Arab Israeli video blogger.
Nuseir Yassin or most known as Nas Daily because of having created 1,000 daily one-minute long videos on Facebook.
It all started with Apo Whang-Od’s apprentice, Gracia Palicas post on her Facebook page, which is now deleted. In her post, Gracia called the platform’s “Whang-Od Academy” a “scam” and said that her grandmother did not sign any contract with Nas Daily.
“Some people are taking advantage of our culture. PLEASE HELP US STOP this disrespect to the legacy of Apo Whang Od and the Butbot Tribe,” she wrote on Wednesday.
