The Philippines has been launching its own satellites to space starting with the DIWATA microsatellites which were developed by Filipino scientists in Japan.

The newest cube satellites MAYA 3 and MAYA 4 are the first to be built by space technology students of the University of the Philippines. The satellites were launched to outer space in August 2021.
