The Philippines’ celebrity icon Vilma Santos is now vlogging on her own YouTube channel.
The 67-year-old Filipina movie and television star who built a stellar entertainment career from the time she became a 9-year-old child actress in the film Trudis Liit, premiered her YouTube channel on September 23, 2021.
“Hi friends! This is your Ate Vi for all seasons. Excited na akong magpasaya sa inyo sa aking YouTube channel. Abangan niyo ang aking first vlog ha,” Santos said in her intro video.
Santos is credited with about 230 actress assignments including the critically-acclaimed Sister Stella L and Dekada 70 which tackled the Martial Law years in the Philippines. Vilma Santos is also half of the iconic Philippine movie rivalry between her and Nora Aunor.
Her long and illustrious career also spanned radio and television hosting for which she became even more popular as Ate Vi, the Star for All Seasons.
Her foray into Internet content creation through video blogging is under her married and public servant name, Vilma Santos – Recto. Ate Vi married Senator Ralph Recto from the political clan of nationalist Claro M. Recto. The couple settled in Batangas where Vilma Santos eventually became the first woman mayor of Lipa City and the first woman governor of the province. Santos currently serves as the House of Representatives Deputy Speaker, representing the 6th District of Batangas.
Vilma Santos, like a veteran YouTuber, invited everyone to like, comment, and subscribe to her channel which will premiere her first vlog on September 26.
