EJ Obiena wins another pole vault silver World Athletics’ Poland meet

The Philippines’ champion pole vaulter Ernest John “EJ” Obiena took home another silver medal in the World Athletics meet at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial tournament in Chorzow, Poland.

Obiena finished in joint second place with fellow Olympian KC Lightfoot of the United States after clearing the 5.80-meter mark in the Poland event held on September 5, 2021.

The No. 5 pole vaulter in the world earlier set a new Philippine national record of 5.91m en route to capturing the silver medal in the Paris leg of the Wanda Diamond League.

The Filipino Olympian will continue his impressive run in the final leg of the Diamond League in Switzerland on September 8 and 9.
