A couple weds at the border checkpoint.

Urdaneta, Pangasinan – As the Philippines implement travel restrictions due to the prevailing pandemic since last year, this doesn’t stop the couple, Erwin Zabala and ruby Papio from finally tied the know in a civil wedding ceremony that happened at the border checkpoint in their city.

According to Ruby in an online interview that Erwin and his companions including the officiating officer were not allowed to enter the province due to lack of SPass and that’s why they were held in a checkpoint and decided to wed at the border.

Kasama niya ‘yong officiating officer from Manila.

Erwin is a nurse in the United Kingdom and went home to meet Ruby and marry her after months of long-distance relationship.
