“Words can’t express how happy we our for @animamjd for trailblazing the path for young women and girls in the Philippines and for that matter all over the world,” East-West Private wrote in an Instagram post.
In an online press conference organized by East-West Private, the Filipina cager shared that she is excited and proud to represent Philippine women’s basketball in Europe.
“I’m not just doing this for myself but also for my fellow Filipinos, especially the younger girls…every time that I go out there, I show to everyone that Filipino basketball can play as well not just in the Philippines, but also in the international level,” Animam told the press in the live conference.
The six-foot-five former National University and Shih Hsin University standout will fly to Serbia on Friday.
Animam represented the Philippines during the 30th Southeast Asian Games and helped the Gilas Pilipinas women bag their first-ever gold medal.
