A 25-year-old entrepreneur from Chengdu, China, named Fu Xuewei, recently posted her beautiful set of wedding photos on her social media account. However, there is no groom who seems to be found on the set. In fact, the shoot consists of only Ms. Fu and her 87-year-old grandfather.
Despite having no plans of getting married anytime soon, Ms. Fu Xuewei decided to wear a bridal gown for her grandfather. Her grandfather fell seriously ill last September, with doctors warning that he could pass away any time.
Fearing the grandfather might never get to fulfill the dream of walking his granddaughter down the aisle, Ms. Fu arranged a $475 (3000 yuan) photoshoot. Keeping her plans a secret, Ms. Fu took her grandfather for a regular check-up, only to reveal that they were going to a photo shoot that she arranged.
Ms. Fu was raised by her grandparents from the age of 10 after her parents split up and she formed a special bond with her grandparents. She insists on taking care of them in return. Ms. Fu even has a tattoo of her grandfather on her arm.
“I had my grandfather’s portrait tattooed on my arm in January because I want my new friends and my children to be able to know what he looks like in the future,” she said.
