Philippines – As the country celebrated Hidilyn Diaz after becoming the first Olympic gold medalist after winning the women’s 55kg weightlifting category overtook Liao Quiyun from the People’s Republic of China may we look back on the other weightlifter who brings pride to our country.
Let’s meet Artemio E. Rocamora, a Philippines Airforce Veteran/Athlete who brought bronze medal in Asian Championship and 19th place ib Tokyo Summer Olympics year 1964.
The men’s 82.5 kg weightlifting competitions at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo took place on 16 October at the Shibuya Public Hall. It was the tenth appearance of the light heavyweight class.
THE LIVING LEGEND IN WEIGHTLIFTING 🏋🏻♂️
I am hoping to voice out his legacy since He is now too old and as he saw Hidilyn Diaz compete and bring home the Gold, He was so amazed and remembered his journey nakarelate sya kasi totoo mahirap humanap ng sponsors, nahirapan daw sya magfocus noon kasi at the same time kailangan nyang kumayod para itaguyod ang pamilya.
We will never get tired of listening to his stories.
I’m so grateful to be Filipino and proud to be his Apo. Our Super Handsome LOLO Artermio 🏋🏻♂️
We Love You So Much Papa!
