The Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) has opened a drive-through and walk-through reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing facility on campus to help Filipinos get easier access to coronavirus testing.
BlueSwab, which opened on July 1, 2021, is located at the Loyola Heights, Quezon City campus, and tests are done by the Ateneo Molecular Pathology Laboratory (AMPLify).
The BlueSwab service is available to the public from 7 a.m. to 12 noon on Mondays to Fridays and from 1 to 5 pm on Sundays.
Tests are priced at Php 3,400 for tests done on weekdays and Php 3,000 on Sundays.
Those interested in availing of the service should book an appointment online at least one day in advance before the preferred date of swabbing through Blue Swab.
BlueSwab is a service of AMPLify, part of Ateneo de Manila University’s response to the nation’s call for more diagnostic facilities to help ramp up testing capacity as one way to fight the pandemic and all other notifiable infectious diseases.
An alternative Covid-19 RT-PCR Test that uses saliva samples instead of nose swab samples is also available at the Philippine Red Cross labs and in Ayala Malls collection sites in Circuit and Market! Market!.
The University of the Philippines and Ateneo de Manila University are also setting up isolation wards for Quezon City Covid-19 patients to help unburden hospitals amidst the surge of cases in Metro Manila.
