The Philippines’ The Curator Coffee and Cocktails has once again been named one of the 50 Best Bars in Asia, the only Filipino establishment to make it on this year’s list.
Landing at the 38th spot on the 2021 Asia’s 50 Best Bar Awards, The Curator maintains the distinction as the “Best Bar in the Philippines” awarded in a virtual ceremony on May 6.
The bar, owned by David Ong, was featured in Asia’s 50 Best Bars for the sixth year in a row by the same organization that organizes the World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
“Third-wave coffee by day and kick-ass cocktails by night is a winning combination, judging by the popularity of this vibey bar. Staff treat ingredients with the utmost respect, whether it’s coffee beans or small-batch spirits,” the website described The Curator.
Asia’s 50 Best Bars earlier announced its inaugural 51 – 100 list where three Manila bars made the cut: Shangri-La Fort’s The Back Room at no. 51, OTO at no. 61, and Buccaneers Rum and Cocktails at no. 100.
The ranking is based on the votes of members of Asia’s 50 Best Bars Academy composed of some of the most well-traveled and knowledgeable people in the bar industry, drinks media, and mixology experts across the continent.
