The Miss Universe organization has tapped Filipino designer Jojo Bragais as its new partner to provide footwear to the candidates of the 69th edition of the annual beauty pageant.

More than 70 delegates will get to wear Bragais’ shoes which are proudly crafted by the Pinoy shoemakers of Binangonan in Rizal province in the Philippines.

In a Facebook post, the Miss Universe organization announced Jojo Bragais’ eponymous fashion label as its official footwear.

“All of our delegates walk with purpose, strength, and in their own unique stride. Presenting the official footwear sponsor of the 69th MISS UNIVERSE competition Jojo Bragais, who empowers women to ‘Walk. Win’,” the Miss Universe organization announced on April 17, 2021.

The renowned Pinoy shoe designer also proudly shared the announcement on his Instagram account.

“Jojo Bragais is a world-class Filipino brand that understands how walks in life can make or break one’s ability to win. For that reason, it has always designed its shoes to be uncompromising in style, comfort, and quality. The brand has been worn by winning queens in some of the most important runways around the world,” Jojo Bragais wrote.

Jojo Bragais has made a name for himself in the world of pageantry as one of the leading designers in the Philippines who exclusively worked on the footwear of the country’s most influential celebrities, models, and beauty queens.

In 2018, Bragais was part of the fourth Filipina Miss Universe Catriona Gray’s team. The designer created the iconic boots worn by the Miss Universe 2018 titleholder for her national costume.

Rabiya Mateo of Iloilo City is the Philippines’ new representative to this year’s Miss Universe pageant happening on May 16 in Florida, U.S.A. Mateo’s bid for the country’s 5th win in the pageant is receiving massive support with over 100 Filipino fashion designers collaborating to create her wardrobe.
