The Philippines’ teacher-student team of James De Los Santos and Fatima A-Isha Lim Hamsain have together won 3 gold medals at the E-Karate World Series Edition #2.
The reigning World No. 1 e-Kata player James De Los Santos picked up his 10th gold of the 2021 season while his student Fatima won two golds and 1 silver during the tournament that played from March 19-21, 2021.
The 3 golds, 1 silver finish from the teacher and student team up placed the Philippines in 8th spot overall among the 24 countries that competed in the 2nd leg of the E-Karate World Series.
De Los Santos of the Philippines defeated Switzerland in the semifinals and went on to beat South Africa in the finals of the Shotokan E-Kata Individual Male Seniors event.
Hamsain won gold in the Shotokan E-Kata Individual Female U-16 and U-18 events against competitors from Germany and Greece and picked up a silver medal in the E-Kumite Female U-15 division.
De Los Santos of the International Shotokan Karate Federation is Hamsain’s instructor at the Maharlika Karatedo Kai of the Philippines Int. (MKKPI).
James De Los Santos recently broke his personal best record at virtual e-Kata by scoring 27 points.
Fatima A-Isha Hamsain became the world’s No. 1 e-Kumite U15 player at the end of 2020.
