Filipinos are being offered free health services for Women’s Month this March.

The Philippine Commission on Population (POPCOM) is offering its reproductive health services for free for both men and women.

“LIBRENG Reproductive Health Services hatid ng Commission on Population or POPCOM ngayong Buwan ng Kababaihan. Dahil naniniwala tayo na ang pagpa-plano ng pamilya at pangangalaga sa kalusugan ay responsibilidad hindi lamang ng kababaihan, welcome dito mapa-babae man o lalaki!” the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) wrote in a Facebook post announcing the free health services.

Services include family planning counseling and contraceptives such as condoms, pills, injectables, implant, and intrauterine device (IUD); as well as permanent family planning procedures bilateral tubal ligation (BTL) for women and no-scalpel vasectomy (NSV) for men.

The services can be availed in POPCOM’s Family Wellness Clinic in Mandaluyong City from Mondays to Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The PCW leads the annual National Women’s Month Celebration with the 2021 edition carrying the theme “Juana Laban sa Pandemya, Kaya!” which serves as a tribute, a platform, and a call to action that highlights the extraordinary roles of ordinary Juanas in society as trailblazers and harbingers of change.

Proclamation No. 227 series 1988 provides for the observance of the Month of March as Women’s Role in History Month while Republic Act (RA) 6949 series 1990 declares March 8 of every year as National Women’s Day.

Filipinas are being celebrated for their achievements during Women’s Month in the Philippines.

Filipina environmentalists Ann and Billie Dumaliang of Masungi Georeserve are among this year’s winners of the Vanity Fair “Changing Your Mind Travel Awards” which celebrate individuals who demonstrate new ways to think about travel and the environment while Disney has just revealed that its first Filipino language Original Soundtrack (OST) for “Raya and the Last Dragon” will be sung by KZ Tandingan.

SEND CHEERS in the comments below to the Philippine Commission on Women for leading the celebration for Women’s Month in March and offering free reproductive health services for Filipinos.
