4 Clark Airport’s New Terminal
The Clark International Airport’s new terminal building designed with an undulating roof sitting atop a predominantly metal, lahar concrete, and glass building façade was officially turned over in January 2021 to the airport management.
The airport in Pampanga highlights the province’s iconic scenes to allow the country’s gateway to blend with the landscape. It has been described as reflecting the nearby Zambales mountain range where the world-renowned Mt Pinatubo lies.

3 Makati Medical Center’s COVID-19 Response
Makati Medical Center’s COVID-19 response was recognized by the Asian Hospital Management Awards (AHMA) and the International Hospital Federation.
The Philippine hospital received the 2020 AHMA Excellence Award for Patient Safety for its MMC: Beyond Malasakit – the Hospital with a Stronger Heart and Special Recognition for the International Hospital Federation (IHF) Beyond the Call of Duty for COVID-19 program.

2 UP Leads Webometrics Ranking
The University of the Philippines leads the country’s educational institutions cited in the January 2021 Webometrics Ranking of World Universities that evaluate the knowledge generated and shared by universities.
The state university’s efforts to publicly share its knowledge was given the highest score by the independent group Cybermetrics Lab, the largest public research body in Spain. UP led the top 10 Philippine universities including four UP campuses, five Metro Manila universities, 2 from Mindanao, 1 from Cebu, and 1 from Dumaguete.

1 Philippine Universities in GreenMetric World
Six Philippine universities are included in the GreenMetric World University Rankings that measure the promotion of the reduction of carbon footprint towards developing environmentally-friendly universities.
De La Salle University – Dasmarinas (DLSUD) in Cavite, De La Salle University-Manila (DLSU), Mindanao State University Iligan Institute of Technology (MSUIIT), Ateneo de Davao University, Xavier University Ateneo De Cagayan, and Foundation University in Dumaguete made it to the annual rankings initiated by Universitas Indonesia in 2010.
