The world’s tallest heart sculpture designed by Filipino-American artist Jefre Figueras Manuel is set to rise in the community of Port St. Lucie in Florida, U.S.A.

The 100-foot-tall stainless steel sculpture is anticipated to be the tallest of its kind in the world when completed.

Acclaimed landscape architect and artist Jefrë unveiled the design for his new project on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2021, and hopes to claim the title of the world’s tallest heart sculpture to celebrate Valentine’s Day in 2022/2023.

“Tradition is what is in your heart, I just want to show how big it can be,” says Jefrë Manuel, an international contemporary artist known for creating artworks that are larger than life.

“Heart to Heart” is currently under construction in Jefrë’s studios in central Florida, where he is currently based.

The engaging public art piece with its dynamic, gently twisting shape, will form the centerpiece of Tradition, a master-planned community located in Port St. Lucie, Florida, USA. The permanent public art installation is commissioned by Canadian home builder Mattamy Homes.

The sculpture will rise above a circular pedestal measuring 30 feet in diameter, recalling St. Louis’s iconic Gateway Arch. During the day, the sun above and water below will create reflections on the sculpture’s polished surface while at night, the installation will be dramatically illuminated by LED lights.

Visitors will be able to climb the glass bridge connecting the two sides of the “Heart” and will be treated to far-reaching views in all directions. The landmark will be visible from Tradition’s main entrance near Interstate 95.

Jefrë has already showcased artworks in London, Abu Dhabi, and different parts of the United States.

The artist also debuted with his first solo museum exhibition “Points of Connection” last year at the Orlando Museum of Art.

Jefrë’s permanent sculptures in the Philippines include the “Tree of Life” in Robinsons Place Naga, the “Sculpture” series at SM Aura in Bonifacio Global City, and the upcoming 20-story monument “The Victor” at Robinsons Bridgetowne.

Filipino artists who are showcasing large-scale artworks include Filipino-British mural artist Pio Abad whose public commission mural artworks are permanently displayed on London roads and Cordilleran sculptor Gilbert “Bergano” Alberto whose “The Golden Blood” monument in Baguio City pays tribute to essential workers.
