Filipino fashion designer Mak Tumang has created an “immaculate gown” for the singer-composer Jamie Rivera who performed the official mission song “We Give Our Yes” to honor the 500th anniversary of Christianity in the Philippines.

The couturier behind the famous Mayon lava gown and Ibong Adarna gown created for and worn by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, shared about his latest creation in an Instagram post on February 7, 2021.

“My passion allows me to create pieces that give honor to our Creator – for the talent that He bestowed upon me. Thus, it has become my mission to offer my time and talent to commit to endeavors that honor Him,” Mak Tumang wrote.

Tumang’s ethereal gown bears a dove symbol to represent the Holy Spirit, and the name of “Jesus” printed in early Filipino script Baybayin. His frock is also inspired by the colors of the “500 Years of Christianity” logo released by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) in celebration of the Christian faith’s quincentenary in the nation.

“Inspired by the logo of 500 years of Christianity, I made this immaculate gown with tones of cerulean for Ms. Jamie Rivera for the music video of We Give our Yes, the official mission song of #500YOC,” Tumang adds.

The Inspirational Diva Jamie Rivera earlier released her own rendition of “We Give Our Yes” composed by Father Carlo Magno Marcelo which is all about saying ‘yes’ to the mission of Jesus and staying hopeful despite trying times.

Christianity’s quincentennial celebration in the country is spearheaded by the CBCP with the theme “Gifted to Give” taken from Matthew’s Gospel (10:8).

Filipina singer Jamie Rivera’s music video of “We Give Our Yes” marking the 500th year of Christianity in the Philippines drops at 5:00 PM today, February 8.

The National Quincentennial Committee (NQC) of the Republic of the Philippines is meanwhile heading the celebratory events planned for the quincentennial or 500th anniversary of the Victory at Mactan set to happen on April 27, 2021.

The January calendar of events included the lighting of the World’s Largest Solar Rosary for Healing installed at the Luneta Park led by the CBCP together with the grassroots initiative Liter of Light.
