The Philippines’ basketball pride Thirdy Ravena has been chosen to play in the Japan Professional Basketball League’s (JLPB) All-Star Game scheduled for January 2021.

The first Filipino and Asian import in Japan’s B. League was selected via league recommendation, according to an announcement posted on December 14, 2020, by Ravena’s Japan team, the San-En NeoPhoenix.

Ateneo’s former star-player, who won three Finals MVP awards in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), will go up against the best of the best players in Japan’s All-Star Game to take place from January 15-16, 2021 in Mito, Japan.

The 6-foot-2 athlete will play for the B.White Team, coached by Kawasaki Brave Thunders head coach Kenji Sato.

The Filipino import will be joined by other league recommended and fan-voted players.

Ravena’s team will compete against the B. Black squad coached by Alvark Tokyo’s Luka Pavićević.

The Filipino basketball pride is also set to participate in the Dunk Contest on January 15, 2021.

Another Filipino basketball star, Kai Sotto, is now in the NBA G-League in the U.S.A.
