Filipino gallerists Isa Lorenzo and Rachel Rillo of Silverlens Manila and an artist collective – Green Papaya Art Projects (GPAP) – made it to the 2020 ArtReview’s Power 100 list of the world’s most influential people in the contemporary art world.
The world’s leading international art magazine cited the Filipino artists in its December issue of the annual ranking published on December 2, 2020.
Silverlens Manila gallerists were ranked 92nd for promoting Southeast Asian art in a global context.
GPAP landed on the 99th spot for its wide influence on the presentation of contemporary practices in varied artistic and scholarly fields.
ArtReview Power 100, which mainly identifies who or what is influencing the art that’s being made today, included the Filipino gallerists and artists in the impressive roster of art figures from around the globe including the world’s top influential art form – Black Lives Matter.
The Filipino honorees were recognized for the first time by the international art magazine as the only Filipinos who made it to the 19th edition of the Power 100.
Green Papaya Art Projects gladly shared its newest milestone on Facebook that reads: “We are grateful and humbled to announce that Green Papaya Art Projects made it to ArtReview’s Power 100 for 2020.”
Silverlens Manila also thanked the ArtReview: “Many thanks to ArtReview for recognizing our gallery directors, Isa Lorenzo and Rachel Rillo in their Power 100 list for 2020!
