Six Filipino actors have received nominations in Vietnam’s Blue Star Awards 2020 for stellar performances in various Philippine TV series.
Vietnamese brand, TodayTV, released the list of this year’s nominees on December 15, 2020, which included the names of GMA Network stars Carla Abellana, Heart Evangelista, Jennylyn Mercado, Dennis Trillo, Gil Cuerva, and ABS-CBN actor Rafael Rosell.
The following actresses are nominated for the Favorite Foreign Actress Award:
- Jennylyn Mercado from the Philippine adaptation of Korean Drama, “My Love From the Star”
- Carla Abellana of the 2016 Kapuso romantic comedy series “Because Of You”
- Heart Evangelista of “Juan Happy Love Story”
The lead actresses’ male counterparts are nominated for Favorite Foreign Actor:
- Gil Cuerva of “My Love From the Star”
- Rafael Rosell of “Because Of You”
- Dennis Trillo of “Juan Happy Love Story”
The Filipino actors will compete with nominated celebrities from other countries.
In 2017, on-screen partner and real-life couple Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo won the Vietnam Blue Star Awards for Favorite Foreign Actor and Actress.
