Filipino artists are offering their skills to draw free digital portraits of anyone who will donate to typhoon Ulysses donation drives.
The “GUHIT PANTAWID” initiative aims to create a commissioned portraits of persons, pets, or plants in exchange for a minimum donation of PhP 500 to any legitimate organization conducting relief drives for the victims of typhoon Ulysses, announced one of the founders of the project on November 14, 2020.
The art donation project was first launched in April to benefit COVID-19 displaced workers in Metro Manila including street vendors, construction workers, and drivers.
Frances Lim Cabatuando, one of the artists, went on Facebook to announce that this time, the initiative was reopened to support the flooded survivors of the typhoon.
“GUHIT PANTAWID IS BACK!
Donate at least P500 to #UlyssesPH relief ops of your choice for a free portrait of you, your pet, or your plant! First 100 donors only! 1 portrait each. We’ll announce again once slots are full,” wrote Cabatuando.
The kind-hearted artists who will draw the digital portraits are Frances Cabatuando, Mylo de Borja, Caleb Cosico, and Gab Garcia.
As of this writing, the initiative has already gathered PhP 27,438.67 in donations from various individuals.
