Pokwang is among those who have been billed for electricity bills
Pokwang, the actress comedienne’s Meralco bill reached more than P131,000 in four months
Meralco immediately responded to her Twitter post.
Comedienne Pokwang is disappointed after receiving their Meralco billing for four months amounting to more than P131,000.
In her Twitter post, Pokwang expressed his shock at the billing and asked for an explanation from the giant power distribution company.
Their electricity bill reached P131,312 in just four months.
She tweeted a screenshot from PokLee Cooking Official YT video, on Saturday.
“May iba pa bang hotline ang Meralco Masinag? wala sumasagot at di sinasagot mga tawag…”
“Nang hula lang ata sila ng computation …4 na buwan P131,312.00, ano kami pabrika?”
Netizens immediately sympathized with the actress’s complaint. According to most, even they are also victims of the ‘bill shock’ of Meralco in its recent lockdown.
Meanwhile, Meralco responded and said that they had already sent her a direct message to clarify the issue.
In June, Richard Yap also complained on social media after their electricity bill swelled to P55,000. According to ‘Sir Chief’, it looks like they have tripled their billing despite paying it monthly.
Like Pokwang, Yap also received a message immediately from Meralco to provide an explanation.
Meralco earned a lot of complaints for the increase in consumer consumption over the past four months while Metro Manila was in lockdown. The company also did not properly explain their so-called ‘estimated bill’ which caused confusion.
As a result, the Energy Regulation Commission (ERC) is charging the electric company P19-M penalty as a fine for the unexplained ‘bill shock’.
