Original Pilipino Music (OPM) artists: Ogie Alcasid, Christian Bautista, Quest, and the Perkins Twins will be performing for the “One Voice for Children” virtual concert.
Directed by Paolo Valenciano, the one-night inspirational concert is organized by the non-profit organization World Vision Philippines. The event will benefit the child-focused organization’s most vulnerable children and their families.
Proceeds will fund World Vision’s education projects that aim to assist children during this COVID-19 pandemic, including the annual distribution of school kits and the Abutin Na10 campaign in partnership with the Department of Education.
The musical live streaming event is set to take place on World Vision’s official Facebook page on August 29, 2020, at 7:00 PM. The event will be held live and free for all.
The Perkins Twins are playing new music for the “One Voice for Children” concert. The twins’ two songs released during lockdown “Smile” and “Life worth Living” will be performed live for the first time in the virtual concert. All the OPM singers said they’d be happy to accommodate songs requested by their fans for the concert.
Other World Vision ambassadors and advocates will make a special appearance in the virtual event. These include prominent personalities such as Kim Atienza, Christine Babao, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, JJ Dolor, Tippy Dos Santos, Matteo Guidicelli, Gretchen Ho, Marc Nelson, Enzo Pineda, Miriam Quiambao, Bianca Umali, Janina Vela, and Gelli Victor.
“It is humbling to receive an overwhelming response from all of you for the World Vision virtual concert. We are excited to raise our One Voice for Children through the combined talents of our celebrity ambassadors. This time of great crisis, your support means a lot to children”, says Rommel Fuerte, the National Director for World Vision during the concert’s virtual press launch.
As the Philippines adjusts to a ‘new normal’, education migrates to a digital platform to keep children safe during the pandemic. Overseas Filipino nurse Aldrin Licayan sponsored computers for Pinoy kids who are adjusting to the ‘new normal’ mode of schooling.
Filipino literature e-Storytelling sessions for homeschoolers are taking place on Saturdays for the entire month of August.
