The Filipina nanny of Hollywood actress comedienne Amy Schumer was given credit for the Emmy nomination of Food Network’s “Amy Schumer learns to cook.”

Jane, the Filipina nanny of the 15-month-old son of the Trainwreck star and her James Beard award-winning chef/husband Chris Fischer plays a vital role in the show by filming the couple using a hand-held camera while their son is asleep.

After the newly launched cooking show scored its first Emmy nomination, Amy made a special shout-out to Jane on her Instagram post on July 29, 2020, with a selfie of them with a quirky caption that read:

“We got nominated for an Emmy today (Chris too. But mostly us).” – referring to Jane.

Courtney White, Food Network president said, “The nanny holds the camera, as Chris makes incredibly delicious food and Amy’s sharp wit delivers laugh out loud moments all the way through.”

“The show comes off as a semi-relatable, low budget rom-com, and lines up Jane alongside Schumer and Fischer as a camera-toting “star” who sometimes laughs at the comedienne’s jokes,” writer Dina Gachman commented.

This is not the first time that Schumer has publicly recognized Jane as an integral part of her family, whom she also describes as a full-time student and part-time nanny.

In an Instagram post of the “I Feel Pretty” and “Snatched” lead actress on January 2020, she shared a photo of them wearing face masks.

“This is our nanny who makes it possible for me to work and know that our baby is happy and healthy. I love her very much and we also both want to have nice skin,” Schumer wrote in the post.

The cooking show was nominated for an outstanding unstructured reality program alongside Netflix docuseries Cheer and comedy special Kevin Hart: Don’t F*ck This Up, VH1’s RuPaul’s Drag Rage: Untucked, and the HBO series We’re Here.

Another heartfelt appreciation to Filipino workers was shown by Michael Bublé when he gave his grandfather’s newly renovated house to an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) to fulfill a dying wish.

OFW nurses in Saudi were also given tributes in two videos of “The Saudi Pinoy” vlogger Ahmed Alruwaili who saluted the frontliners of the global health crisis.
