- Malacañang ensured that President Duterte remained healthy.
- At the age of 75, his health is said to be 88 percent.
- The president is scheduled to stay in Davao City for the next few days.
Malacañang has allayed the concerns of many Filipinos for the health of President Rodrigo Duterte amid the heavy work and current burden of the country caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a DZBB interview with Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, the official assured that even at the age of 75, the president’s health remains at 88 percent.
“Well, like any other 75-year-old, it seems that our President’s physical health is 88%,” Roque assured.
He said the President is also scheduled to travel to Davao after a few weeks stay in Manila due to the ongoing quarantine.
“He is in Mindanao now, he works in the office there and has plans to travel but that is, for security considerations, I was forbidden to say,” said Roque.
In recent days, the public has been worried because the President seems to be suffering from illness. He admits beforehand that he has Buerger’s disease, Barrett’s esophagus and myasthenia gravis in addition to the occasional migraine and body aches caused by a motorcycle accident years ago.
The Palace immediately denies this and said that the president is just sad because of what happened to the 5 soldiers in their encounter in Jolo, Sulu.
In May, the Supreme Court dismissed Atty. Dino de Leon’s petition to make President Duterte’s health record public.
