Online Seller Gets Flak From Shaming A Customer

This C0VID-19 pandemic has left millions of people without jobs. And to be able to survive and keep the income running, many resorted to online selling.

Here in the Philippines, there has been a surge of online sellers. Even some celebrities started selling goods online.

Since it is still highly encouraged not to leave the house, most people buy their basic needs online. Not only it is convenient, it is also safer because it is less contact with other people.

But of course, there are still risks of buying online. Just like in this case, where a customer was shamed by an online seller.

On the Facebook group “BRGY. MARULAS BUY&SELL”, an online seller named Marites Solomon aired out her frustration against one of her customers.

Marites sells fruits & vegetables online, but due to her busy schedule, she asked her husband to deliver one of the orders to a female customer.

However, it seems like Marites was not happy with the transaction.

Sa mga customers natin jan, wag gayahin ito. Sana man lang ayusin mo pananamit mo. Babae ka, alam mo may magdedeliver sayo. Magsuot kayo ng maayos customers,” Marites said on her caption.

(To all our customers, don’t be like this. You should have dressed properly. You’re a woman, you know there’s a delivery. Dress properly, customers)

Nakita ko to sa cp mismo ng asawa ko. Hindi ko alam bakit niya pinicturan. Lalaki e. Siya kasi pinagdeliver ko kasi dami kong inaasikaso. Be aware customers.” Marites added.

(I saw these on my husband’s phone. I don’t know why he took the photos. He’s a guy. I asked him to deliver the order since I was busy. Be aware customers)

What could have been a smooth transaction, just turned into malice. Instead of getting sympathy from netizens, Marites gets criticized.

One netizen said that customers shouldn’t need to dress properly to accept deliveries, especially if the customer is just at home.

Other netizens also told Marites to stop projecting her insecurities towards the female customer. It is not the customer’s fault that her husband illegally took her photos, and invaded her privacy.

As a matter of fact, netizens say that both she and her husband can be sued for taking a photo and posting it online without the customer’s consent.
