Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray received another laurel on her head after being named the ambassador for One-Town-One-Product (OTOP) Philippines of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
The One-Town-One-Product or OTOP Philippines is DTI’s program that helps micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from different parts of the country in enhancing and promoting their products that represent their localities.
The Filipino-Australian beauty queen was conferred her new title on July 21, 2020, during the National MSME Week celebration.
Catriona’s ambassador duties include the promotion of local products, cultivating pride in Philippine culture, and helping Filipino MSMEs.
The fourth Pinay Miss Universe winner has been tasked to help in the promotion of Modernong Obra Disenyong Atin (MODA) initiative, a project that would benefit the local weavers and designers.
The beauty queen-humanitarian aid worker is also set to have a partnership with almost 50 OTOPreneur designers and with more than 60 weaving communities from all over the country.
It can be recalled that the Catriona championed Pinoy artistry and native textiles in her wardrobe during her successful stint at the Miss Universe beauty pageant in Thailand in 2018.
Aside from her new assignment in promoting local products, Catriona has also been named as arts ambassador of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts to help to champion the Philippine culture, arts, and heritage.
