Heart Evangelista’s new project, Big Heart PH, is providing students the tools needed for distance learning that will be the “new normal” when the school year in the Philippines begins in August.
The celebrity fashion icon announced on social media on June 29, 2020, that her “Big Heart PH” will be launched on July 1 to provide students the educational tools needed or studies.
The Department of Education had earlier announced that Philippine education will shift to different modes of learning and teaching amidst the coronavirus pandemic that has restricted the usual face-to-face classes.

Evangelista posted a photo of her painting she sold to raise funds for her project and wrote, “A few weeks ago, I sold this painting of mine in hopes to raise funds to do something that my heart was calling me to.”
“This pandemic has affected so many people in all walks of life and some of those most affected are the students— under the new normal, they would be required to comply with distance learning or forced to stop their education if they couldn’t.
“That means that each student would need access to their own tablet and internet. This project of mine started when people were messaging me on Twitter asking for assistance. I knew then in my heart that I had to do something. Something bigger.”
“I know this little project of mine will not be able to help everyone, but I know it will change the lives of those we are able to.”
In early June, Heart Evangelista also announced on Instagram that she will give away tablets for students’ online learning.
